REBUILD #42 | OPENINGS | Vision
Experience gives business leaders something extremely valuable: perspective built over time.
But there is a risk.
The longer we operate within the same business, market, or industry, the more likely we are to see problems and opportunities through familiar eyes. We know our products, customers, competitors, systems, and history. That knowledge helps us make better decisions—but it can also narrow the view.
That is where OPENINGS become important. Within The Strategic Master Builder™ framework, an opening isn’t simply a new sales opportunity or market. It can begin with a different perspective that allows us to see something in the business that has been there all along.
Where New Perspective Comes From
Sometimes that perspective comes from a customer who questions why something has to be so complicated.
Sometimes it comes from an employee who works with a process every day and sees a better way.
It may come from a distributor who recognizes an unmet market need, or from someone outside the industry who asks a question insiders stopped asking years ago.
Strong leaders create room for those perspectives. They listen before defending. They ask questions before providing answers. And they recognize that experience should inform their judgment without limiting their ability to see something differently.
This is particularly important when a business has reached a point where familiar solutions continue producing familiar results.
The answer isn’t always another strategy, product, program, or investment. Sometimes the first step is simply changing where you are standing.
The Lesson from REBUILD #42
Before assuming you need to create a new opportunity, make sure you haven’t overlooked one that is already there.
Change the view. Ask another question. Listen to another perspective.
A new opening may already be in front of you. You simply need the vision to see it.
Build. Rebuild. Build Better.
